Welcome to 1st Ariel Scout Group. Founded in 1929 we are over 80 years old! A long established and dynamic group, we run Beavers, Cubs and Scouts sections while maintaining strong links with the Square Four Explorer Unit. Scouts groups belong to Districts and Counties. We are part of Rea Valley District which is within the County of Birmingham. With our Head Quarters in Selly Oak Park, we also have links with Friends of Selly Oak Park.
The Scout Association offers everyday adventure and activity to almost 500,000 young people in the UK. It's the largest co-educational youth organisation in the world, with over 28 million members in 216 countries and territories. Over 40,000 Scouts from around the world attended the World Jamboree 2007 in the UK.
Scouting is organised through The Scout Association and has a clear purpose: To help young people achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as Members of their local, national and international communities.
Ariel Scout Group is working to achieve this with the voluntary help of Leaders and Parents with the support of the Group Executive Committee. Scouting is available to both boys and girls and is divided into several main sections, for more details on any of them please click on the links on the left.
