Imagination, 09/09/11

Game: Benchball

Drew pictures of any object from our imagination, created a story which included the pictures, and acted it out in front of the group

Badge requirements achieved:
Creative - Act or mime a simple scene
Fitness - Take part in a team game; take part in co-operative game (benchball)
Imagination - Write, tell or act a short story, poem or play

Snibston Discovery Museum, 18/06/11

Saw interactive and moving exhibits and fascinating displays about fashion, design, technology, science and industry at Snibston Discovery Museum, Leicestershire with Beaver Scouts from all groups within Rea Valley District

Badge requirements achieved:
Adventure - Adventure walk around a park
Creative - Learn what a magnet does
Fitness - Go for an accompanied walk
Friendship - Join in activities with another Colony
Outdoor - Visit to a place of interest

Creative Activity Badge Requirements, 2011

Complete the following:
The Beaver Scout needs to:
1. explain/know about a creative activity
2. take part in the creative activity
3. tell the Colony about the activity.
Examples of creative activities include:
• Putting on a show or form of entertainment
• Making a mobile, origami shapes, a model out of clay or plasticine, a painting or drawing or doing conjuring tricks

Circus Skills, 06/01/06

Plate Spinning
Required: Paper plates, bottle tops, garden canes, glue, felt tips
- Decorate the top of the plate in any pattern
- Stick the bottle top to the bottom of the plate
- Wait for the glue to dry before balancing the plate on top of the stick; the stick should fit into the bottle top
- Spin the plate around

Acrobatics
- Draw a chalk line on the ground for the Beaver Scouts to 'balance' along
- Perform roly polys

Juggling
- Begin by throwing one ball from hand to hand
- When the Beaver Scouts are comfortable with this add a second ball; they will throw the second ball just after throwing the first
- For the really good ones add a third ball to juggle
